Gambella State to focus on projects aimed at solving socio-economic problems

August 11, 2008 (Gambella) - Chief of Gambella State said the region would focus on executing development projects aimed at solving socio-economic problems during the current Ethiopian budget year.

Omod Obang told press that projects in agriculture, clean water, health, education and good governance are planned to be executed during the budget year.

Efforts would be made to ensure food security through deploying development agents to each locality.

The region also envisages enhancing production and productivity through introducing modern agriculture techniques.

The region also eyes at ensuring education quality at different levels and enabling all school age children get access to education service.

Some 27 health facilities are planned to be constructed in the region to back ongoing fight against malaria, HIV/AIDS and other communicable diseases.
